Failover Architecture: Designing Zero-Downtime Power & Rigging Systems
# Failover Architecture: Designing Zero-Downtime Power & Rigging Systems In live event production, there is no second take. When millions of viewers watch a championship winning shot or a prime minister delivers a national address, power failure is not an option. ## Synchronous Dual-Generator Banking We never run a critical event on mains power alone or a single generator. Our power setups utilize twin 800kVA generators running in lockstep load-sharing mode through an automated sync bus. If generator A encounters an oil pressure anomaly, generator B instantly assumes 100% of the electrical load in less than 8 milliseconds without even a flicker in sensitive broadcast equipment. ## Dynamic Rigging Load Monitoring Wind gusts in open desert sites can rapidly multiply the load on outdoor stage roof structures. We install wireless load cells on every primary hoist point transmitting real-time strain data to our rigging control console. If wind speed reaches 45 km/h, automated ballast dampers are activated to secure the structure safely.
